Montessori Miss Emily is an AMS-credentialed Montessori educator, preschool director, and advocate for accessible Montessori education. She directs Pathways Early Learning Center, a non-profit, tuition-free Montessori preschool that exclusively serves children who are experiencing homelessness. She is dedicated to making only the highest quality of childcare accessible to the families that she serves. Under her leadership, the school earned Birmingham’s first five-star rating from the Alabama Department of Early Childhood Education.
Her professional mission is to return to the roots of Maria Montessori’s vision, which began in the slums of Italy to serve children in poverty, but has since become increasingly privatized and inaccessible to those who need it most. Beyond the classroom, Emily advocates at the state level to expand Montessori access and recognition. Her work, both in the classroom and through her social media presence on TikTok, Facebook, and Instagram, is driven by a commitment to make Montessori accessible to all—from homeschooling moms and preschool teachers to the most marginalized children and their families.
